    Hi all :)

Picked this up today and I'm once again needing help dating it! You guys are wonderful :) The label says Moygashel color-fast, crease resistant Irish linen. There was supposed to be a belt but it must have been lost.

    Thanks!

Nice linen and what a color! It looks like early to mid 50s.

So chic - love the color and the shape! I would date it to the early to mid-50s as well.

I had this ca. late 40s/early 50s linen dress and bolero jacket with a Moygashel linen label:

Tamzzyn - I like your dress and am swooning over Karin's. Do you wear that dress Karin? It would look SO GOOD on you.

Thanks, Amanda. Yes, it was fab and I did wear it, but not enough, so I sold it on. It just wasn't quite the thing I'd wear to work - the top has just straps and the skirt was fairly long, so not very practical. I prefer 60s style shift dresses or then later 50s/early 60s shirtwaist dresses that are shorter for every day wear these days. I have sold quite a bit of stuff over the last couple of years that, while pretty, wasn't practical and I wasn't really wearing it. I've learned a lot about vintage from wearing vintage :).

Both are fabulous dresses. And that grass green color is yummy.

I have seen ads for Moygashel linen fabrics in some of my vintage "American Fabrics" magazines which date to the late 1940s and very early 1950s.
