This is the cordovan or burgundy pair of high top shoes, cuban heel, found in an old farm house near here dating from 1912 to 1923. Sold a brown pair several weeks ago.<p> Nice size, too. Outside length 12 inches and outside width 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 inches. I put my foot up to shoe. I wear an 8 1/2 with a foot length of about 10 1/4 inches. I'm saying these would be a 9 or 9 1/2. I dunno, I'm a size 10 and my antique boots that fit me measure 12" long and 3 1/4" wide. Have you tried them on, are they massive on you? Oh boy, if these are a 10, they're mine!!! Lei
Well, I sure didn't want to have to unlace these things and take my stuffing out but I did! I wear an 8 1/2 B and they fit good on me except I have about 2 inches extra at the toe. That's all the way to the end. Inside measurements are: 10 1/4 + length. Width 3 1/4 inches. Lei, were those measurements of the outside or inside? These are very soft and supple and would give with your foot except at the heel.
Those were the outside measurements on mine. I'll dig them out to see what the inside ones are. My feet are ever so slightly over 10 1/2" long so I'm hoping these will fit me as I need another pair of boots to wear to period events. Lei
It is really hard to measure the inside length. I did it with one of those little six inch metal sewing gauges. That way you can get down to the toe and not have to hold it in place with one finger. You know what I mean? Again, this shoe has some give at the toe, so they may just fit.
I just measured my antique boots and they measure 11 1/4" long on the inside and even narrower in the width at 3 1/8"! The toes are quite pointed on mine and there is still 1 1/4" left at the end of my toes. The toes on your boots are not nearly as pointed as my ones to the extra 2" may just do it! ;) Lei
