I have a pair of Ferragamo shoes that have a metal bow. They are similar to the modern day boutique bow shoes, but the heel has the old style. The label indicates 60s or higher, but I have no idea how to price them, and have never seen a pair like them. They are in almost new condition.

    Thanks.

The big thing with Ferragamo shoes is whether they are pre 1963 (SAlvatore's death date) or afterwards. Pre 1963 Ferragamo footwear is the real collectable. Do you have a photo of them? ANd can you post it?

PS: If you can't post it, can you email it to me at [email protected] I can post it here for you then.

No matter the year, ferragamo's are still great shoes. Even if not "collectible" for shoe collectors, every pair of ferragamos I have ever had sold well. Among people buying to exclusively wear, their quality and style is sought after. While, like Jonathan, says, there might not be a high demand collector market after a certain year, there most certainly is a "wearable vintage" market for them, most definitely!

These are a variation on the "Vara," one of the most popular styles Ferragamo ever did. The Vara was introduced in 1978, so they have to date after then. These do sell well, especially larger sizes that are not too narrow.

I appreciate everyone's feedback, thank you. I tried to upload a picture of another pair I have (suede top clogs, black and gold chunky heel, studs), but I don't know where it went or if I have to acccess a seperate screen for pics. I'm not sure if fizzylizzie is referring to those or the metal bow variety being a variation on the Vara. I saw a pair on ebay that were similar to the bow style, but the heel on mine is an older style.

    Pic of Shoes

Here is a pic of the shoes I don't have a date/value for.

I will say one thing about "value." "value" is just what someone is willing to pay for them. There really is no "book" value for something like this, just what you can either insure a collection for, or with ideal conditions, the "going rate".

By the way, your photo is taking a long time to load because of the size, especially if someone is on an older computer. I took it and shrunk it down here. You can delete the original if you like.

I realize value is subjective, but there is a general fair market value. Also, I'm still trying to figure out if these are before or after Salvatore's death.

I apologize for the picture. I didn't realize it would come out Jurrassic size, but this site isn't very user friendly. I 'll figure out how to delete it when I have time, or write to a moderator.

These are after Salvatore's death. These shoes , with that heel date to the 80s.

As I stated, these are a variation on the Vara. Here is the classic Vara, first brought out in 1978:

I don't know the value of yours with the metal bows, as the last pair I had I
sold on ebay about 4 years ago. I think they sold for about $30.

so to differentiate, an 80s version has a more sloping heel silhouette than earlier versions?
