Does anyone have any information on the French designer Calixte? I have found only a few references online and only one piece in a museum collection. I work for a museum with a Calixte playsuit in the collection and it's one of our most loved pieces, so hoping to learn more about the designer.
I know the name from Théâtre de la Mode. One of my favorite dresses on display at the Maryhill Museum, which houses the Théâtre, is a long bare-backed evening gown in vertical bias panels of pink, blue lavender, cream, black and gray rustic linen, by Calixte. Oh wow... this was amongst the Théâtre de la Mode outfits reproduced for the Tyler Wentworth doll: I couldn't remember the designer's name - but seeing the image rang a bell!
