Fried/tired brain. Any suggestions on kw\'s for 50s/60s custom piece?

    Hi everyone,

I know I posted this before, but I re-took the pics. Made by Walton Pierce Grosse Pointe MI, Made to Order. Grosse Point, btw, is one of America's wealthiest areas, and I'd LOVE to know who he made this for! The richest of the richest live there. Anyhoo, another question I've got aside from the kw's; why are they weights on both sides of the dress at the bottom (sewn in, left & right)? What's the 411?

    Thanks!

60s I think. Very Posh High Society feel to it.

    Aaargh, that's terrible.

That's beautiful!! The weights may be there to maintain the silhouette, so the skirt stays down.

I have an aunt and uncle that live in Grosse Pointe! A lot of old money lives there, but they aren't old money, they live in a much more modest home. But that shop is way before their time living there.

  4. Holy smokes that is lovely!!!!!!!!!!!! What is that fabric? It looks sort shiny. Is it polished cotton?

Wow, pink and red roses, ultra lovely pleates, bolero and spring around the corner, that should sell VERY well!! That pleated waist reminds me of a 50s Ceil Chapman that I have. I wonder what year Jonathan or Anne would give it. Hopefully one of them will pop by for a look.

I wouldn't waste space on descriptive keywords. Go with the facts .... roses, pink, bolero. They will find this ... and they will love it!

And I think Chris is right about the weights! :)
