I'm new to this and just got a vintage fur coat today. Can anyone tell me what kind of fur is this? Picture taken under indoor light as it is dark outside right now. There's a label authority tag with no designer name or anything.

Hi there, It's mouton which is sheared lamb that has been dyed and processed to repel water. The fur authority label was created in 1956 to ensure that fur products were made under fair conditions and complied with the fur products labeling act which specified that when advertising or selling the true names of fur types must have been provided and stated on invoicing.

I cannot see the entire jacket however based on what I do see I think it dates to the early 70s.
