I love every single one of the icons you mentioned. PinkChandy who's name I think is Rochelle? per another thread wins! Congrats!

Diana Ross was born in 1944.

She first started in a group called the Primettes. Later she went on to form the Supremes.

During her singing career she had 12 number 1 hits.

    She also starred multiple movies.

Over the span of her career so far she's received many awards including an Tony award, a Golden Globe award, and several American music awards. She was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she received the Black Entertainment Television's Lifetime Achievement Award, and Barack Obama honored her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

    Congrats to PinkChandy!

This was a good one. This is the part of the clue that had me and my friends stumped:

"She really aided in setting a widespread trend in fashion."

I do not recall, and was around at the time, so can you share what fashion trend she was known for? We are all wondering!

    Thanks for all the fun!

    Oh yeah!

Her once upon a time bob hair do and her big hair. Although white, my aunt reminded me of her because afterwards she wore that hair do too.

She wore glittery dresses and those great jumpsuits that others started wearing. She wore those big hoop earrings. She was so fashionable and she made white woman and black women feel more comfortable getting dressed up to get down! The way she wore her make up is still popular today.

If you look up photos of her as you will see how fashionable she was and how many exciting looks she had and if you look up info on her you will see many considered her to be a fashion icon.

She did actually do some designing as well. She studied fashion design as a child, and helped to design the costumes for Mahogany and she chose her own costumes as well.

She was and is still awesome!
