This is hard! Toss up for unlikeliest place to be found:

Late 1920s?early 30s Ferragamos - (ask Jonathan, he'll know)- found at a northern Indiana farm estate auction:

1780s silk gown found in a Cincinnati antique mall for $160.

I have had a lot of amazing buys in my 48 year career, especially in large hauls.
But as far as individual good deals I remember these.
A Halston and a Holly Harp, bought off a Halloween rack for $1 each:

And a pair of Vivienne Westwood elevated shoes that I bought for $5.
Let's just say they sold for a lot more than that:

I almost forgot this Ceil that I got for free, don't remember what it sold for:

This is an easy one for me. A rare "Pennys label" Brown Beach jacket. Purchased from the women's blazer section of the thrift store for a few dollars and sold at auction on eBay for around $1525.

I can't believe, well yes I can, but look at all the amazing incredible stuff you all have had. This is a truly historical vintage and antique fashion thread that collectively shows many incredible pieces.

I recently found a Paco Rabanne vinyl disc dress at Salvation Army, it needs a bit of work to replace some tears in the discs but I love it. Used it for a fun rooftop shoot! Not ready to sell this baby yet.

I've had many really good buys but this is one of the best. I found it at a local antique shop mixed with a pile of "stuff." It is a Trifari, designed by Alfred Spaney in 1941. I restoned it and still have it in my personal collection. I paid $5.00.

I bought a number of Art Deco pieces from a seller at a collectible show in Hawaii for an average price of $20/piece. Most of the pieces are unsigned KTF and they are among the best in my collection. Here are a few of them:

And at another show this Réja for $23.00.

  13. Many years ago, I had a Penney's label beach jacket vest. Bought at the thrift for under $5, sold for around $500. :)

My best find from an estate sale was a gorgeous Adrian suit for under a $1.

My best find from a thrift was this Ossie Clark outfit on half off day, way under $1

Emilio Pucci scarves, Moschino jacket, Dior purses... I go thrifting about three times a week.

  16. LOL. Never telling what you'll find on a buy/house call , is there? I call this one my "worst find ever." Only posting the thumbnail, in case you're squeamish.

No! Really I'm not. But you can imagine how my heart went pitter pat when I found it. Seller had labeled it an 1870s bustle dress.
