Hello everyone: I'm a newbie with a question. I have a 1950s Helen Bond Carruthers Sweater that also has an interior label that says "Frances Brewster". Wasn't Frances Brewster also a designer? I'm wondering if anyone can shed any light on this for me. Thanks so much. IMG_20180126_142026.jpg IMG_20180126_143618.jpg

Very pretty! And I've had sweaters from HBC and from Frances Brewster, but never seen one with both labels. I'll be interested to hear what the others think.

THIS VFG member’s site explains that Frances Brewster is the store that sold the sweater.

Thanks for that info Lynne. So perhaps the Brewster label in the sweater is because it sold from her boutique???

Yes, Frances Brewster was the shop/boutique, Helen Bond Carruthers the designer/decorator.
