    Hello again!
    Yes, I'm back.
    (sort of)

I'm getting ready to list again after a very long hiatus . . . and find myself stumped by this robe/dressing gown.
    (That doesn't happen to me very often . . . . )

    <img src="http://members.aol.com/crew112/images/pinkrobe-fr.jpg"><BR><img src="http://members.aol.com/crew112/images/pinkrobe-fab.jpg"><BR>

    It has a 40's line/feel but I doubt it's that old.
No label of any kind sewn in.
    It's a somewhat sheer <I>woven</I> fabric.
A bit stiffish and not high sheen.
Pinked seams . . . rolled and machine stitched hem and facing edges.
    Triple row elastic at waist.
    Single row at wrist.
    Fabric-covered buttons.
Lace feels somewhat cottony - but I'm sure it's not all cotton.

    Help??! :)

Any and all help/input would be greatly appreciated!
    :) - Thanks!!!

Lets' see - woven , somewhat sheer and stiffish. Does it have some sheen and is it a bit bouncy when you try grasp it in your hand?

    Organza?

    Hi Chris!
    Hi Hollis!

    Nope, not organza.
    Not really any sheen.
    Not bouncy, at all.
It's not a fabric that I'm at all familiar with.
It has a definite weave to it, not stretchy at all, not really any "give."
About the same "sheerness" as organdy and sort of organdy-ish in nature . . . but not at all cottony.
Can rayon be "stiff-ish?" I normally think of it as more drapey/flowy.

Anyone care to venture a guess on the era?

    Hey 'with'!!

It's so good to see you that I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark at helping you with something you know far more about than I :) - yes - rayon can be stiff-ish, sort of crispy-dry with no 'give' - in fact I have a 70's YSL Rive Gauche blouse listed now that has all the qualities you mention and it's 100% rayon. Of course that's where the similarities end!

It' so good to see you - please don't be a stranger, we truly miss you when you're not here!

    :)

    Hi "without" and Sue! :)

That's a good piece of info, Carolyn!
I've been turning this one over and the dating is probably pretty close, too . . . .
There's something about this one that harkens back to that "old fashioned" look that revived in the 70's (and mostly turned into "country" and "victorian" looks when it shook out).

    Thanks, all.
    :)

Dimities ( Combed cotton light crisp sheer and with a lustrous finish) ??????

Closest I could find besides the organdy that you mentioned.
I agree with 70's if you don't feel its too old.

    Great to see you here!!!!!
