Help dating floral dress

Good morning/afternoon/night,

I know the title is a little vague, but anyway: I bought some vintage pieces with 50% off (Black Friday sale) and this was one the dresses I found. It has pockets, the hem was shortened and the zipper says “Corrente”.

I’m guessing 1970s. What do you think?

 

Cute. I don’t see 70s on this one. Looks like a very sweet 40s house dress. Could be 30s and the hem taken up in the 40s..

 

I find house dresses hard to date because they didn't always follow current fashion trends. If I am seeing correctly that the zipper is mid-back, I think it may be 1950's. The colors in the print and the fabric also remind me of 1950's.

I thought that was a side zip. I agree with Marian, that it’s probably 50s. It is hard to date because the style looks earlier. However, upon a closer look at the print and colors, I do see more 50s in the fabric. Sorry!
