Help in naming this type of collar (Bertha? Shawl? ) on a 60s girls dress

    Hello all,
    I can't think of what this collar is called.
    I know I know it somewhere in the back of my head.

    I know this probably won't help at all, but I figured I'd give it a shot just in case. Really all that comes to mind when I see it, is a bib collar. Hope I helped somewhat!

    I would probably call it a platter collar...

    It's definitely not a shawl collar. While I have seen this collar called a Bertha, but there seem to be a lot of variations on what is termed a Bertha collar. However most definitions say it reveals the shoulders, which yours doesn't. Platter collar is probably the most accurate.

    I would call it a Bertha collar. It most closely matches the illustration of a Bertha collar in "Fashion!"by Mary Wolfe. The illustration in the book is very similar to the one on this chart of various collar styles:
