Hello, I would appreciate help please with dating the label of this black sheared rabbit fur vintage cape. The look and construction seems to me to be around 40s/50s. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hello, Can you please show me brighter images of the fur itself and show me a full photo of the lining?

    Thank you.

From the silhouette, collar, construction and label font, I'm thinking 1940s, but possibly earlier.

    Hi again,

Late 30s/Early 40s but the bunny rabbit was safe in this case as the fur type is sheared muskrat.

Thank you so much for your help I really appreciate it. Glad to hear the bunny was safe!! I would never have known it was sheared muskrat.

Yep, the zig zagging lines are actually the edges of the pelts and is often how muskrat is crafted.

Rabbit pelts are generally crafted in large square blocks and it’s sometimes hard to see the edges at all.
