Help! What is this? Costume gone wrong? 1920s?

So I have this piece that is made of beautiful silky cording. Perhaps it's nylon. It's looong and intricate. And has these very old glass bead embellishments. Did someone get crafty and make this recently?

Would you happen to have a mannequin you can throw that on?

Looks much like some of the 1970s silky rayon "shoe lace / tape" shawls and dresses.

Maybe someone took one and "redesigned" it! The beaded pits are definitely antique

I think it may be some crafty hippy update thing -- hard to tell without handling it. If the beaded pieces look slapdash sewn on, then that is definitely what I think it must be. I have seen those wide rayon braid tapes used to make shawls and dresses from the 1920s, so it may be something from then, and adapted.

  7. I vote for '70s: repurposed earlier pieces with macrame.
