Hello! I found this really neat pair of plaid Delman slingbacks and have not been able to find a date or anything for that matter on this particular style. Is anyone out there familiar with this brand? The number 0187234 is stamped inside the shoe. Photos are attached! Any help is a appreciated
Delman was a very important American brand, founded in 1919 and at their height of success from the 1930s to the 1960s. Some of his shoes in the late 1930s were designed by Roger Vivier. The founder Herman Delman, sold his business in 1954 but the brand continued to prosper until the 1970s when competition from Brazil and Spain starting cutting into business. Your shoes here are late 1960s.
Aren't they stunning?!? They don't seem to have been worn at all either! There are zero markings on the soles.
