Aloha!!! Need help with dating a coat dress I just picked up! It’s a Christian Ada, creme colored, mid length, button up coat dress. It’s 65% Triacetate & 35% polyester (I had a friend interpret the tag lol) I believe it’s a Japanese Designer. It’s fully lined very well made, buttons are just plastic buttons. The collar & lining do have some discoloration, lining also has very small holes here and there. Sleeves can be worn long or cuffed and buttoned up as 3/4 sleeves. Any info will help! I’m hoping I found a gem. Mahalo!!!

With the drawstring waist and the roll up sleeve , I would call this more a shirtwaist dress than a coat dress myself. It looks to be nice quality, too. That tab style keeper on the optional fold up sleeve has been popular quite awhile - starting in the late 1980s - 90s, I think? Which is where I'd place this dress.

HERE is some trademark information about Christian Ada, which puts it in the 1980s, as does a 1981 Singapore Business book, that lists the Christian Ada company among the Singapore businesses.
