How popular were tie coats in the 1940's?

How popular were tie coats in the 1940\'s?

Hello everyone.
My first instinct on this coat is 1940s, my second instinct is 1940s but just wanted to get your imput prior to listing. It is a true tweed with huge wide cuffs, the buttons are leather and the pocket edges are curved as I have seen frequently in 40's coats. The armholes are set in an unusual square and the label seems to tie in with 40's as well..
What say you fabulous people?

I agree with mid to late 1940's Michelle! It seems to be made to fit over a suit perfectly.
