So I purchased this beautiful black coat online. The tag was from a furrier, but, because of the price (it was $4.99), I just assumed it was faux fur (the listing did not give a material...and there is no material mentioned on the coat). When I received the coat, though, I discovered it was fur. And, sadly, it has areas of dry rot. For some reason, this coat became a labor of love for me as a rehab. It's obviously old and well made. Not sure what the fur is...maybe a wool? I'd love to know a decade date, though. I've managed to fix the troubled areas, but I honestly don't know if it will last to see the winter.:(
Yes it's probably some kind of lamb skin, such as Persian lamb. https://vintagefashionguild.org/fur-resource/sheep-lamb/
