Issey Miyake Skirt? Pants?

I have a beautiful Issey Miyake item, but I'm not sure what to call it.

When I bought it, I thought it was a plain long black skirt, but when I got home I realized that it was a sort of cross between pants and a skirt. There are legs, and where the wrap part overlaps, it is open, like a skirt. I can't even capture what I'm talking about in my photos.

I'd appreciate if you would tell me:

    Yes, I understand.
    No, you are babbling.

See - it looks like a skirt.

On the left of the picture, the leg is free, but on the right, the wearer's leg is in the garment leg.

Who ever gets ths is going to LOVE it. The fabric is so rich looking and the construction is fabulous!

    Thanks,
    Lizzie

Almost like a skort but with palazzos. I think I would call it a skirt. I have never found anything of his until recently now that hes at Target but would love to find an older more expensive line of his.

( plus I think he is gorgeous!)

Issey Miyake is at Target????? Maybe you are thinking of Isaac Mizrahi or whatever his name is. Miyake is Japanese, very, very high end, and like LIzzie's skirt, highly unusual stylings.

Oh, Pauline, please don't be embarrassed. Finally I know something here that someone else doesn't know, so I show off. Don't mind me. Their names are really similar, aren't they - Isaac Mizrahi and Issey Miyake. I've had a few of Miyake's things and they are fabulous. They always bring the bids too.

Gaultier did some similar experimentations with structure. Whenever I think of Miyake I think of Pleats Please and that gorgeous mutated insectile clothing he did in the late '80s. He's extremely collectable.

Maybe you could try something like "Luxurious Issey Miyake Hybrid Wrap Skirt"? Mention the length if you can. It looks to be a great length for right now.
