My late 1940's- early 1950's croc skin shoes in a size 11 AA! They are a bit long on me as I'm a 10 but they are so lovely that I wear them to every special occasion.

I'll have to take a few pictures! I don't want to sell them so much that I never took photos of some :)

    Oh MY! Good stuff!

I have a number of things, maybe 30 items, that never even got to the photo phase, as I experienced love at first sight, but a number did make it to being photographed, then I just couldn't part. I hope you don't mind, here are a few. I'm afraid these might show my sheer lack of coherent style!

    Oh WOW, Maggie !

    I Adore the purple shuz!!!

I'll see if I can find pics of anything I'm not willing to sell. LOL
Lately, it's been pretty much anything goes!

Oh - I did decide to keep the black suede 40's Pin Up Pumps. Remember them?
The ones with the lacey inserts on the vamp. I had asked if they were a cuban heel...

I dunno what I did with the pics. LOL

Well, I am queen of taking pictures, then I get to the cropping stage, then I fall in love... SIGH...
Here are a few things that never made it to a selling venue *smile*

This 1930s (?) lace gown/lingerie... I am not sure how it would have been worn but I wear it and love it... it is so delicate that I most likely will be its last owner :(
    <img src="http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/30056787/Images/20slace1.JPG">

This extremely ornate Kimono or Kimono like item just will never leave. I wear it only indoors as it has a train. Hand painted, heavy real gold thread and stuffed, it is dramatic but warm, I think it is from the 20s
    <img src="http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/30056787/Images/kimonoFT2.JPG">
I was lucky enough to find several of these vintage 80s Comme Des Garcons dresses, I could not help but keep one and actually just wore in on my last trip to Vegas..

Oh what a fun thread!! I'm dying to see people's "keepers"!!

Denise, I *LOVE* that striped rain jacket. LOVE!!!

I'll have to take pics cause I never photograph the keepers, but as a list:

Purple 60's petite (so it looks so cute and cropped!) kinda boiled wool-looking little jacket trimmed in matching color satin with BOWS at the pockets. I just got it a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love.

    Bone t-strap Ferragamo heels. They're <i>classic</i>.

And something that is likely to be on the auction block soon cause it's too big for me now, a fabulous green velvet trench. I'm thrilled to lose weight but I'm gonna miss this coat!

Yeah Michelle, I would like to be the UPS man coming to the door to be greeted by a woman in that gorgeous kimono!

Chris, you have no idea! The things I love at first sight are often spectacular prints from the 30s and 40s. Plus, ANY shoes that look good and are size 9 are MINE!!!! BWAAAHAHAHA!

I've got more, but this is what i managed to wrestle on my manni from the closet...so i will show a few more dresses, some shoes and a purse later (and my favorite mod belt!)

I get a big thrill that this is one of the few things that looks a lot better on me than my manni. it was custom tailored so made for realistic proportions. this is a late 40s menswear inspired blue gabardine that i am in love with. Its just the kind of suit i thought about having as a kid from watching too many old movies. its from 49 and its a longer pencil skirt that goes with it. Beau Brummell tailors

And its not vintage yet,,,but retro! Not a real valuable thing but I can't part with it. I wasn't really into going to the prom. But I went since my mom told me i would regret it when i was older. (i don't think i would have!) No date, too much chocolate cake (they served dinner at ours) and home by 10...but my husband still cannot convince me to part with my prom dress. Yep, you do detect a floppy bow at the hip. And somehow i believed that year that fuschia lipstick to match your dress looked good. It still fits too BWAHAHAHAHA!!

Okay i admit. I DO NOT wear the prom dress, but i have to try it on once a year to see if it still fits.

Ah, well, I still have my wedding dress from wedding #1 ca. 1981, so don't be embarrassed Chris! I think it's sweet you have your prom dress. You and I are the great estate sales of the future!

  13. OMG, Maggie, you are so beautiful. I love that dress.

I have a hard time believing that you are old enough to have had a wedding in 1981...unless you were not the bride but a junior bridesmaid...or flower girl LOL

Linda has some fantastic wedding photos I think she should show someday. Even just one!

We'll do our estate sales right. We'll live til the ripe old age of 120, and sell things off in time for us to enjoy the money.

Thanks very much, my dear mother made that dress, with Juliet sleeves, and all the hippie-ness that suited me. I was 21 then Chris, pretty young and foolish, I can say for sure.

Speaking of stuffing shoes...i have worn these to indoor functions only (and changed into them when i got there). They are actually marked my size but i have to stuff the toes or I walk out of them. There was something about 80s flats and heels that I do that in. I ALMOST thought about selling them for a split second but they are too different and too much the perfect shade of orange for me to ever sell. I love them! they are charles jourdans

    /shoeworkshop/orange.jpg

And another oddly favorite color of mine.
    /shoeworkshop/platforms.jpg

I need more "outdoor" shoes. LOL

So you are about my husband's age, but i still say you look younger than that!

My baby sister has been engaged over a year and is getting married this coming year. She's 21 now. Her fiance is the nicest guy you could meet, but i have still been trying to tell her she is TOO YOUNG for this day and age! But since I got married at 30, I am "an old person who doesn't know ANYTHING!"

Well I was collecting for years before I started selling so I've got boxes and boxes of stuff around that I won't sell. Mostly 1920s. I've been really good about not keeping stuff myself although there are a few items I've sold that I wish I hadn't.

The only thing that I bought to resell but decided to keep is this hat. Its even a Givenchy but I like it too much.

I've had long, long hair for several years now but one really hot day this summer I decided to cut it all off. I now have a 20s-ish bob and that hat just looks too good on me to sell. (I mean that in the most modest way possible ;) )

Ok - I simply cannot believe that you are (if my math is right) 45?!?! I swear on everything good and holy I thought you were YOUNGER than ME. I would have guessed about 26-29.

You look amazing (both then and now!)!!!

maggie, Im sorry but i have been doing the math as well and I really can not believe you are 45!! I am in shock. Please do tell us all what your secret is? Do you have any vices?
