I love it when this happens. Just listed this sweet Catalina suit and was able to find this pic of Marilyn from 1951. She did some swimwear modeling for both Catalina and Jantzen. Here's another of her in a suit we recently sold, again from 1951.
I have got to stop clicking on your posts! so jealous! How do you ever sell anything? I would keep those suits! :adore:
off topic a bit but I ALWAYS wanted those shoes, anyone know anything about them, she wore them a lot. They are clear with changeable laces, I believe, because the laces were red in "How to Marry a Millionaire" (my favorite Marilyn movie) I wish someone would re-make those even Barbie has those shoes, she really does have everything
Here ya go, for when you find that cute polka-dot bikini (and you will, hehehe) http://www.life.com/image/3295933/in-gallery/22544/marilyn-monroe-in-swimsuits note the shoes with white laces this time in pic #9
No Kidding! I have a bunch of gorgeous vintage swimsuits, but I can't bring myself to sell any of them! I just can't do it! Oh, and I agree, those Marilyn platforms are pretty much the coolest shoes EVER! I've adored them since I was 12 years old and I saw a picture of her wearing them!
I keep coming back to look at these. Marilyn was amazing in swimsuits & I agree those shoes are so hot! Great suits
BEAUTIFUL!!! You really have an amazing selection, Pam! Kudos to you for your efforts in finding and selling the best of the best!
Love those swimsuits! I guess the straps are removable? Very clever! Wen I looked at that first photo of Marilyn, I just thought I know these shoes! Karin
I bought a pair of lucite shoes with "flashers" in the heels (like kids sneakers) a few years back. Bought to wear under my bridesmaid dress at my brothers wedding. I snagged them new at Payless. Very retro, though.
