    Hi!

I just got this Lilli Diamond dress, and I have a question to You, because I do not come across American vintage dresses often.

What fabric is this? Acetate? And can I steam it? Dry clean it?
The dress has two layers of similar black fabric. Lining and the one that fringes are sewn onto.
    Can I steam the fringe?

    yikes! help

Frederick's of Hollywood ad from the 50s with fringe dresses have one described as "rayon and acetate crepe", could this also be this dress?

Can you please show us the label and if there are any other labels hidden on the inside seams.

    there's only one label.
I think the hem line was changed
Inside there's also something that looks like black paper, and some other fabric that looks like heavy cotton or linen

perhaps Pellon. Used to help a garment hold its structure.

Yes, I believe you can steam and dry clean it—however I would remove the beautiful rhinestone strap for dry cleaning.
