May 11th BAG A SUMMER PURSE
A vintage bag is a great way to add a touch of vintage to your wardrobe. These spring & summer bags will make you wish you had one (or two) for every day!

    Anne,

I love that wicker purse from W.T. Grant's--my grandfather was a manager there, and I do remember sitting at the soda fountain with him! :) It's too cute!

Amy, it's funny.... back in the day Grant's stuff was considered "cheap" or, at least, inexpensive. But this purse is very nice quality. If it doesn't sell by the time we go to the beach in June, I'm pulling it and keeping for myself!!! I have had new NWT outfits from Grant's in the last 2 or 3 years: a lovely peignoir set and a long vest w/dress outfit that just sold a couple months ago. While these weren't as nice as the purse, they were much better than the stuff you find in discount stores today! I collect for myself Grant's glass Christmas ornaments--I have some that I've owned since the early 70s that go on my tree every year, and I buy more when I can find them!

I just love finding Grant's stuff--it so reminds me of my school days when we would have chocolate malts or ice-cream sundaes at the soda-fountain counter!
