  3. Yes, interesting. But, only useable for luxury brands so far.
    Maybe the future will bring an affordable alterative.

    Speaking of plant-based "leather", I've also been eyeing these cactus-leather bags, from maker Everlane (which makes some fairly well-made stuff, at least as modern manufacturers go, IMO). Pretty cool, although still a bit out of my price range!
