Need help dating vintage crochet top/sweater -- N Peal label, maker: Jill Lawrence

    I have a vintage crochet knit top/sweater that I'm trying to date. I'm guessing it dates to around the 1970s, but I'd love to verify and/or narrow it down a little more specifically.

    The deep front collar is making me think early 1980s. N. Peal has been a well known UK seller of cashmere sweaters since 1936, although with the Jill Lawrence label, this would not be their own line.

    What a lovely sweater, I am seeing more of a 70s look to it and most likely would have had a matching skirt.
