Need help with description on dress

Need help describing this vintage hawaiian dress

Is it a hawaiian label? because this is not what i would picture when i was thinking about a "hawaiian dress". usually, when trying to describe something, enough indicators to get someone who is searching to find it....color is important in a description - both the general and specific, the cut or silhouette, if its a print or solid, etc, and the overall "look". If you have that, it will get someone "in the door" so to speak if they are looking for a color or an overall style (and measurements are critcal!)

I don't have a perfect "buzz word" that sums it up if that's what you mean, but if you have enough descriptors in it, someone will find it that will say "oh, that's the one!" . To me it has a bright vibrant op art-y quality to it.

I guess that is what is throwing me is the fact it is not a traditional hawaiian print.

 

well, I would make sure that you name the manufacturer, but not call it a "hawaiian dress" per se.

Say it is "not a typical hawaiian made dress" or "this label is known for its more traditional hawaiian prints...but this is an exception" and then you will get people searching looking for hawaiian dresses show up in their searches...without trying to name it specifically a hawaiian style.

It is definitely cool though. Maybe someone will know more about kamehameha and know the name of this particular line, but i sure don't.

I have had that label before. Can't remember a thing about it now. Did you check the label resource?

 

i think there is a website about hawaiian clothing, but since this doesn't fit the mold, I don't know. will have to see where that link is...
