Ack! I keep going back & forth on this one - which is the front? No tags, no nothing!!

I think the first way looks great!

Collar's in the front, I'd think. Are there no bust darts?

    Early to mid 60s.

i agree with Lizzie (I was even about to ask about bust darts!) -- I think the collar goes in front.
but it looks kinda cute the other way, too...

That's way I was thinking too - it looks cute both ways.
I don't think there are darts no... which is kinda weird.

Very weird for this era dress to have no darts!

  9. How wild! I'm thinking the collar goes in the back. ...a few thoughts...

It looks like there's a zipper down the center of the collar side. If so, I'd definitely think the collar goes in back.

If it has a side zipper, it would *usually* be placed on the left side, though sometimes they are on the right.

The pleating of the skirt also seems to have slightly more purposeful detail, with the wide, non-pleated section at the center, that I'd expect on the front of the dress, across the belly area, on the no-collar side.

I'd also go for collar at the front - the fullness for the bust is there and not on the other side. I think the zipper down the front will just be some sort of adaptation of the shirt-waister style dress.

  11. Oop. You're right. That collar side looks baggy when it's on the back, whereas the other one doesn't.
