I believe these are 40's, but possibly 30's (Jonathan?) with that 4 1/2" heel....Reptile platform shoes...

They are obviously quality shoes, they have a fabric label sewn inside the shoe..

Embossed in the other shoe (which I am not familiar with it reads:

The are marked genuine reptile, what kind of snake do you think made these beauties? They are in fabulous condition, but a size 4.

So do I have a winner or not??

THey are 40s, probably right around the end of WW2. Exotic skins like snake and croc are popular 1944 - 1946 due to cow leather shortages required for the war effort. Very snappy pair you got there!
YOu should do well. It will all hinge on the size, and they look small to me.

  3. Susan, those are friggin gorgeous, to bad they are so small.
I had a pair almost like that listed size 5½ but mine had damage to one heel where the skin was peeling off, I may have them repaired but not sure because of the size.
I gotta get back to work...

Unfortunately they are VERY small, a size 4. One of my buyers who pays top dollar is a collector and size does not matter to him....but if he is the only one bidding then that does me no good!

OMG, those are GORGEOUS!!!! I want 'em! :(

Now are we sure that this is a size 4, like a current American size 4? I don't know much about shoe sizing, but that almost sounds like a child's size, and these certainly aren't a child's shoes!

    They are STUNNING!

Those are really fantastic! I think I wore that size at birth.

There are a couple of shoe collectors and designers that shop ebay that pay top dollar for great vintage shoes, no matter the size. You just cross your fingers and hope at least two of them find your auction!
