I'm posting this not so much to brag about the dress (although it is fantastic) but to brag that I was able to remove some fairly serious spots & restore it to its original glory ~

It is fantastic! Care to share your cleaning technique?

Sure, Lizzy - but be prepared to cringe! I hadn't noticed the (large but faint) spot until after I'd photographed it, and I liked the pics (and the dress) so much I was determined to find a way to clean it up.

I tried: Dryel spot remover, a rust spot remover, Orvus paste... maybe some other things as well (always rinsing/blotting with water between treatments) - all to no avail.

In desperation I used the Clorox Bleach pen - really slathered the stuff on! Not wanting to leave anything containing bleach on the dress for long, I... threw it in the washing machine (cold water, gentle cycle)! Fully expected to find a clump of shredded lurex in the machine, but no - the dress emerged looking fabulous - the spot (and some minor pit stains - used the bleach pen on those too) was gone.

It could've gone either way for this dress - perfection or death (I'm a known dress murderer - not a serial murderer, more of a sporadic one) ~

:)

You were brave.
No guts no glory!

Great dress by the way.
