    Hiya!

I came across this beautiful hand made peasant top (if that is the proper name) and once I started trying to sort out its history, I got confused. Some were listed as Hungarian from the 30s or Mexican from the 70s.. Is there a way to distinguish ( without tags) the stitching or style that might send me in the right direction? It is a thick cotton material, no gathering at the waist.

    Thank you!

The Eastern European ones from the 30s that I have seen are usually a soft, lightweight cotton - almost a gauze. And the embroidery patterns don't look like this. I think this one is more likely Mexican, and in this color range, 1970s.

Let's hope others with more experience with these blouses weighs in!
