"Perfection" label on 1880s shirt?

    Good morning all,

I am currently looking at a man's dress shirt (which has a patent date of 1881 stamped on the back) but it also has a white emroidered label with the text "Perfection" in red. I can't seem to find anything about the company or clothing brand. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks in advance for any input.

    Hi,

Yes, we need a photo. Where is it stamped on the shirt? If it is on the collar it may a patent for the collar, not the shirt. In the old days, parts of a garment might have their own separate patent from the actual finished garment.
