Please Help Date Vintage Oriental Kimono Robe

    I would appreciate help in terms of date & description of this Oriental Asian Kimono Robe.
    The only tag on the robe is one that says HONG KONG.

    The robe has beautiful embroidery.
    The fabric is black with gold. Is the gold stamped on the black fabric or is it embroidered?
    Do you know what the fabric is?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    That's a nice one! I would call this just a robe, not a Kimono. These were made for export to sell to tourists, you will also see them as part of pajama sets. The dragon and phoenix embroidery is lovely. I would date this in the 1950s-1960s range.

    It's hard to tell without seeing a closeup of the fabric but it looks like a brocade. Can you post a close up photo of the outer fabric please?

    Judging by the label and the styling I would go with 1960s.
