    Hi all :)

So I picked up this dress and I love it! It reminds me of Diane Fries dresses - there are shoulders pads and its made with georgette polyester; however, the label looks very new to me, especially the laundry care symbols! Can anyone help me in dating it? Is it 90s?

    Thanks!

Obviously, it is post-1970s because of the Care Labeling Rule of 1972.
As the tag says, it was made in Hong Kong. I would say it dates after the 1980s because it was back then that mass-production of clothing in Asian countries started.
I checked the RN number and unfortunately couldn't find anything about Mosaic Designs Inc.

It's high 80s - 1986ish. Hong Kong was a huge clothing manufacturing centre since the early 1960s. I have seen variations on clothing symbols - Canadian ones are done in red, green, and yellow. I imagine the pink stitching is just a variation done by that company. Also, I looked up the Canadian registration number, and it belonged to GERALD FINKELSTEIN INDUSTRIES INC., which was founded on June 15, 1981. Their last annual general meeting was in 1996, and they were declared inactive in 1998 by Revenue Canada, so the dress has to date from within that time frame.
