   Hello, I have a jacket that has an RN # that calculates out to 1979 yet there is also a tag that reads Fall '05. I am not quite sure what to make of this. I have never ran across such. Any comments?????

   The RN# is when the RN was first pulled by the company not always the date of manufacture.

   As Cin says, the RN number can only give you an approximate 'no earlier than' date.
