Seeking info re MERCANTI - Handbag maker from 90s?

Hello!

This vintage 90s(?) bag manufacturer doesn't seem to have much of a following. Google has zero search results for the company; eBay search results show no other MERCANTI bags for sale. Any information, links or leads on information would be helpful.

This bag is a nice-sized clutch, 13" wide, 6" high (closed) with leather on the inner rim, leather piping on the base and on a front rectangle where it can be monogrammed (I guess.) It is good craftsmanship for a nylon/microfiber fabric that hasn't yet started to decompose.

I'm grateful for any info about the company.

Hi,

I did a trademark search and didn't have any luck. However, someone on eBay posted a purse for sale by Mercanti with same label. I found a Mercanti Fiorentini but logo is different. See below... looks like they also made purses.

Thank you, Chiquita. I did see some items for sale on ebay under the Mercanti Fiorentini label - like you, wasn't sure whether it was same company or same founders. Not an important label, obviously!
