Strawberries in wheelbarrows VG dress!!

Discussion in 'PUBLIC Vintage Fashion - Ask Questions Get Answers' started by Beehive Vintage Goods, Apr 1, 2004.

  1. I just adore this print...so whimsical!! This dress is a good size, an 18, however it appears that the original hem has been altered. My question is, did VG make dresses like this in a floor length??

Yes they did. I've never seen one, but someone posted one on VC&A about 2 weeks ago. How is the hem finished? Can you post a quick shot of it?

The hem actually looks like it is in the right place for the early 80s, when these were so popular.

I LOVE the print on that one Bonnie. That's one BIG strawberry.

I'm glad there is photographic evidence that women actually wore floor length casual dresses in the 70s, otherwise in 20 years no one will believe it. Why? Because they are all being cut off. I suspect that most of the floor length Lilly Pulitzer dresses are being chopped off, and the bottoms are being used to make accessories!

  4. I posted this on the VC&A and someone said that the lacy edging is the real deal for the original hem. Seems like a funny length though, even on my tall manni.

I hope this one does well! I think it rocks!!

Bonnie, I'm not that familiar with VG stuff, but love the berry in the barrow! "Bouncing Barrow Berries VG Sundress!"

    ~okay that is a reach! :)

Great dress though and so yummy summery!

    Sue:)
