Suggestion for washing vintage fabrics?

    One hand-crocheted tablecloth (1920s),
    Two quilt tops (1930s)
Lace covered white or ivory dress (1920s)
    Suit jacket and dress (1930s)

Dates are my approximations. I know how to store them but how do I clean them? Any safe ideas?

  2. Martha, it all depends on the fabric composition as different materials respond to different methods. There are other considerations too: can you show is photos? It will help. Thank you.

I have to get to the bottom one of two steamer trunks now stacked in my bedroom in order to get the fabrics in question out. It may take me weeks to get pictures up but I will try. Thanks for the suggestion.
