I found these last weekend, and think all 3 are 50s. Does anyone know

    1. what type of hats they are? (I have no hat knowledge!)
    2. what sort of feathers are on the feathery one?
    3. anything else worth knowing :)

    thanks!! IMG_0279.JPG IMG_0285.JPG IMG_0290.JPG

Nice hats. They date from the late 1950s to early 196os. The black feathers are some domestic fowl such as goose or rooster, treated with chemicals to burn off the lower portion and create that effect. The white feathers I cannot see that well, but they are probably hackles from a rooster.

I can't get a good look at the first hat, some sort of toque or cloche style (with great veiling), the last hat some call a bubble toque or bubble hat although they did always not call it that back in the day. The purple blue hat looks to be made of a braided tulle/net.
