Discussion in 'PUBLIC Vintage Fashion - Ask Questions Get Answers' started by vintageclothes-line, Aug 9, 2004.

  1. Both 80s. The first one I VTA'd. All I can think of is Space Age and hot metal. Very sheer, not lined, lurex??<br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum4.jpg><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum2.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum3.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum5.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum6.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/silverpeplum8.jpg><br><br>Next one is a pink and black lined rayon suit. DISCO, glitter, for the first :) pink and black is a HOT combination, classic I think is a good word for the 2nd, I dont know if that trim classifies as piping (?)

  3. Thank you, Liz. Don't know if I even thought of disco but that is a good keyword.

I don't think that is black piping but I could say black trim. So some people search for black and pink...hmmm...interesting.

What about Glamorous 3-tier peplum metallic sparkle dress...
    Too much?
How about black trim accents on pink crepe skirt suit?

Maybe it's because you mentioned Space Age, but if that silver Lurex/ Lame number doesn't go this time, you might save it for Halloween and call it Space Age/ Rocky Horror - especially if someone took the under skirt off or shortened.

And I think that black trim is binding. I always think of that type suit as Country Club wear.

Linda, I'm seeing retro 40s 80s ultra-glam with the first one, not sure if
I see disco other than the fabric.

The suit is so Uptown Barbie Does Lunch! :D

    Park Avenue?

  8. Barbie Does Lunch!! LOL. Can I use Barbie??? I am so confused on what we can use anymore.

I guess I could put a barbie doll for sale in the auction (think I have one around here somewhere) and that would work, right?

And Hollis, you are right. This would be a great Halloween number. I will keep that in mind.

    Thanks!!

I read somewhere Lurex is supposed to be hot! And of course tiered skirts are hot again.

    Like Barbie does lunch.

  10. Well, I put Barbie At lunch since it took up less room.

Lurex is in the title. I hope they are looking for it!! Also, lots of people were looking at ruffle skirt so I put that, too.
