Underarm stains on 40s rayon (not crepe)

So I have what I think are underarm stains (light brown on lavender rayon) on a dress.

I have tried a vinegar solution but it’s not working very well. What can I use that won’t bleach the rayon?

The best method I have found for underarm stains is sponging on an equal mixture of ammonia and non-chlorine (Oxygen) bleach. I have used it successfully on cottons and rayons.

    Marian,

    Is this method color safe?

    Thanks

Yes, but check on a small area that does not show to be sure. On things I was not sure of I sponged and rinsed as I went. I sometimes soaked whites and white background cotton prints as long as over night. Good luck.
