When did 'shiny' labels start being used?

    Good morning/afternoon/night,

    I've been wondering: when did satin coated acetate ('shiny') labels start being used (assuming that that's the material they're made of)? Searching through the forum and Etsy, I noticed that a lot of 1980s/1990s clothing have this kind of label, as well as most of my contemporary clothing. Maybe much of the Etsy clothing labeled as '90s isn't vintage, afterall? :puzzled: This is an example:
