I was wondering if anyone has ANY information on this Label. It is in a superbly constructed striped wool coat which looks (vaguely) to be from late 50's to late 60's.
It looks like circa very early 1970s. Maybe 1969 at the earliest. It is fabulous, and it look vaguely familiar to me. Very "Panton Era". Reminds me of Marimekko too. Lets see what others think of the dating.
I have had many high end pieces of clothing from the 60s with this label Although mine are all from Baltimore MD, not with the other cities listed. I don't think mine were a chain. Very interesting to see another label
It does look 70's.... I am finding little information on this company. Supposedly they had a shop on Madison Avenue and stylistically a couple of vintage pieces (sold on the internet) that have this label in them, have similar collar and garment body patterning. Would love to know which designer was associated with this company!
I would put it into the '70s because of the colors - and the collar. I did a quick search and found a reference to Women's Haberdashers on Madison Avenue. I have not been able to confirm this. I lived in NYC from 1970 -1972 and it sounds familiar but I'm not sure...
