Would this have been a casual wedding gown or just a formal dance gown?

It is late 50's/early 60's, soutache and sequins on the top, three layer skirt. It is gown length. Ivory in color.

I think it could have been either. Coming out peach color to me. Beautiful!

Does it look peach on your screen? It is ivory without any hint of peach or pink - just ivory. I might need to adjust the pictures or something.

It's lovely and looks Ivory on my screen. Well actually a touch darker than ivory, more like cream.

It looks light peach on my screen and I would go with early 60s on this one due to the cropped looser bodice and the satin bow detailing. I would say a dance gown.

It's lovely! I'm sure it would have been designed as a formal dance gown, but would certainly work nicely as a wedding gown!

I think it was more likely to have been a dance gown. A lot of Christian denominations still had strict rules about no bare arms in church in the 60s.
