Caged/Locket Wrist Watch....Help?

I'm lost on this one! It seems older, as in pre-40s maybe, and the only markings on "MONON" on the front (which only turns up a railway on Google, but I know there are railroad watches...maybe?) and on the back a barely discernable "jMs base metal". Need to google that now. Any thoughts on age, what to call it...anything? Off to dig more, thanks!

The watch face has more of a post-war/mid-century modern feel to me.
However, I'm not an expert on watches by any means. Perhaps someone who knows more can weigh in.

Yeah, I can see that. Its more the way the clasp and metal pieces are on the wrist piece...almost as if hand cut or something. But who knows. I emailed a guy w/ a timepiece site and he had no idea (or didnt want to help me)....!
