Regency... what??? You may ask—well, ask no longer! Not only has the Netflix series Bridgerton drawn viewers by the thousands, it has also sparked one of this year's hottest fashion trends! The series is set in the Regency era, which, strictly speaking, took place in Great Britain from 1811 until 182o. The term "Regency style" often stands in for the styles that were fashionable from the late 1700s until the 1820s. Its hallmark is high-waisted dresses as seen on Bridgerton, though they were given a rather modern twist for the series.
So, what marks the Regencycore trend? Think feminine dresses, high waists, babydoll dresses, delicate flower prints, puff sleeves, opera length gloves, jewel and pearl embellishments, soft pastel colours or bright jewel tones. This week, our VFG members show you Regencycore items that even Lady Whistledown would approve of!
