Hello everyone! I’ve recently acquired some jewelry at an estate sale and have not had much luck ID’ing the manufacturer or era. This necklace and bracelet set are very similar to “Taxco, Mexico” jewelry. As it is stamped Mexico 950 I know it is real and made in Mexico (lol). The style is kind of art deco and I believe the stones are onyx. It seems like they made things very similar from the 50s through the 90s? I’ve tried to date these using the clasps and the links but cannot seem to get any concrete answers. I have also searched Google over and over again for silver marks to try to identify that way. Most of the jewelry that is similar on eBay or Etsy are just labeled as “vintage” and usually do not include a year/decade. If anyone has an idea of when these are from or where I could look to find out I would love to know! Thank you so much, I hope everyone is having a great day! 1660CF5E-6F31-4050-9442-BEEE68227844.jpeg BADF1E9E-4730-45EB-8489-48218F609462.jpeg B09C1BF6-1FC2-4BA7-B774-7F84B9FF5696.jpeg B4C15698-EC27-470D-9D2F-34DC0B71A0BF.jpeg 1CFCF93A-A054-4A2A-B45D-45AADBD87F91.jpeg 11B2B134-CFAF-4094-BECD-D588D351B644.jpeg

What a find! Beautiful! I'm definitely not expert in this area, but I tend to think that hinged clasps are older--midcentury, at least with American manufacturers. I know zilch about Mexican work, though.

Thank you, I thought so too! I’m in the same boat, thought it may be 50’s (but I’m definitely no expert). Now I’m just debating if I want to keep it or sell it...

Yes, there was definitely an Art Deco revival in the 50's in American work but it also could be later (I have a hinged clasp Monet, NOT Deco, that I believe is 80's), but again, I'm not an expert. In any event, it looks to be a quality piece. :)
