After seeing Marlene Dietrich in her glorious wardrobes on the silver screen, I've been a lover of vintage fashion. Clothing from the 1930's - 1950's is my primary interest, a time of elegance.
I'm especially fond of the designer Claire McCardell, who managed to create chic, easy-care clothing. On the other hand, I like the whimsy of Elsa Schiaparelli's "shoe hat" and surrealist bent. Furthermore, I admire how Adrian, (a designer from Hollywood's golden age,) worked wonders on various body types. (Think of Joan Crawford'shoulders.)
All in all, vintage fashion's craftsmanship, design and the women who wore them is more interesting than what's been occurring in the trade for the last decade.
