Astrakhan coat

Hi I’m new to this forum and after collecting mostly 40’s and 50’s items over the last 10 years or so I need to downsize my collection so I’m attending my first vintage fair as a trader this weekend.
I have an immaculate astrakhan coat by a company called supersheen. I can’t find any info on this company and I’m not sure how to price it.
I’m Uk based but I think this coat could be from another country. Possibly the US. Any ideas?
I also have a teaset I’m struggling to find info on. I know this is fashion based but I wondered if there’s other forums I could ask about it.
Thanks in advance

I’ve never heard of superSheen either (I’m also UK based).

When you say Astrakhan, do you mean faux fur? Astrakhan means different things to different people in my experience. Some people use it for real Persian lamb or another curly lamb, some for a faux synthetic version of Persian lamb, and a third possibility is a wool boucle fabric, meaning real wool with a curly pile surface, but a wool fabric rather than lambskin.

The price you can achieve will depend partly on which of those, and partly on style, and probably not so much on brand unless it’s a well known one. As well as all the other things that affect price.

Note that we can’t offer pricing advice here (you may already know that) but we can help with information that might inform your pricing decisions.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
It’s definitely real sheepskin, tight curls, black and very heavy for the size of the garment.

You could try looking for comparables online to try and price it. Eg eBay sold listings. The real lamb skin coats may be called Persian Lamb, rather than Astrakhan (IIRC Astrakhan was originally a trade name for the faux fur version)

Hi there, I found multiple articles which I think are associated. I will post a couple.

One mentioned Supersheen coats which were advertised as being the "colors" navy, black, brown, "Kit fox," and sport plaids. That only referred to the color.
