Help dating jumpsuit, boiler suit

Hi folks! I'm hoping someone can help me date this wool jumpsuit. At first I thought it was 70's era, but once I put some light on it, I realized it's got to be much older. The thread & fibers alone look to be more aged than anything I've seen from the 70's & that mini metal painted Talon zipper along with the finishes remind me of the 40s. There are no tags & the characteristics are handmade. Hoping someone can help!

That is a wonderful garment! I see 1970's, possibly 1960's if it was done by a fashion forward designer. Reminds me a bit of Bonnie Cashin in the lower pockets and color, but the large upper patch pockets throw that off for me.

Thank you all for your replies! I've decided they were handmade in the late 60s/early 70s using an older 50's/60s zipper & maybe it's been washed in the machine a lot over the years, hence the older-looking thread. I also realized it's mock wool, so yeah, my 40s dream went out the window!
