Canada ILGWU label dating

I found this dress which looks to me like a late 1950s/early 1960s sheath dress, I would guess more into early 60s. It has a Canadian ILGWU label, which I previously thought started in 1968 based on the label resource; but this dress looks earlier in style than 1968 (to me). It has a centre back metal zipper and falls to mid-calf length. The thing is, the ILGWU label is a different style than the Canadian ones in the label resource. Might this be an earlier label? If so, does anyone know when it might date from? Would there be interest in me taking a better photo of it for the label resource? Any thoughts on the dress date?

Thanks, as always.

Ah, you're thinking it's earlier than I'm thinking. Could be. I guess I will take a better pic of the Union label and upload it to the label thread in case there's interest.

Oh geez, how embarrassing! Thank you, I never saw that one. I assumed the two further up in that post were the only ones there were. Just a suggestion, it might be easier to find if they were all placed together? But thanks so much for pointing that out, I'll know from now on.

Hello!
I'm out of my league here, I don't really know anything about fashion labels but I am web sleuthing an unidentified person case in Ontario Canada and I believe the Canada ILGWU label could be useful. This woman was found in 1984 wearing Farini Jeans, unfortunately there is only one picture of the jeans and it only shows Farini, not the union label but after some research I found a pair of jeans on Etsy that look very similar. The union label on these Etsy jeans could narrow down the search for the possible years the pants were made, if this information proves helpful I will reach out to see if there are more pictures of the jeans but at the moment I am just exploring options. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

As follow up questions to my pervious post, would anyone know if Canada ILGWU clothes would be sold only in Canada? and would they have been considered expensive at the time? I can find vintage items for sale but no information as to what they may have been sold for in the 1980's.

The CA number is for Joseph Ribkoff, who has been in business since 1957 and is still in business, and the original owner (Joseph Ribkoff) is still alive too! The coloured care labels were in use from about 1973 to 1993, although someone recently found they were in use longer than that. NAFTA got rid of the colour coding because it was a uniquely Canadian system, but maybe it was still used in Canada until the late 90s.. However, apparently Joseph Ribkoff only used that label Farini, from c. 1991 to 2005 (https://trademarks.justia.com/746/63/farini-74663128.html), so they aren't the same make as the 1984 jeans found on the deceased since they postdate her death. It could be a label used by another manufacturer that Ribkoff picked up for his own line, because it sounds exotic and imported... that happens all the time in fashion. But they can't use the name while it's in use by the other company.
